SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Local resident Brad McGovern will compete in the International Auctioneers Championship (IAC) held in San Diego, Calif., on July 29. This will be his first appearance in the IAC, although he is no stranger to competitions. . He won the Ohio Junior Division Championship and placed second in the Ohio Senior Division Championship in August 2021.

Nearly 60 auctioneers from all over the world will compete in this competition. They are all judged on their singing, rhythm, speed, clarity and stage presence. McGovern has been excited and preparing for the competition since July of last year. “Last year, when I was watching the competition in Minneapolis, I blamed myself for not getting in. I knew I had to compete this time around. he said.

McGovern lives in New Waterford with his wife India and owns and operates McGovern Auctioneers, specializing in charity and charity auctions. He is also a contract auctioneer and has traveled the country working for several auction companies such as Barrett-Jackson. He is also a local realtor with Clark Carney Realty Group in Columbiana.
