ABT Foundation solicits last minute auction items, tickets for annual fundraiser still available
(Seguin) — It’s not too late to make a donation this weekend to a good cause. Auction prices are still up for this year’s Ann & Bethany Bertling and Tristan Gonzalez Foundation (ABT) Annual Dinner and Dance.
Each year, the awards help generate nearly 90% of the revenue raised at the annual event. This year’s fundraiser is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Columbus Hall in Seguin.
The foundation, established in memory of the three named individuals who died in a car accident in 2016, supports local youth involved in agricultural activities.
Jennifer Bertling, one of the nonprofit’s founders, says all donations are appreciated.
“It’s the last Saturday in April every year, whatever that date is, but it’s at KC Hall and we’re accepting donations for live and silent auctions. They can range from small donations to large donations. People can also donate money to the event,” Jennifer said.
Husband Blake Bertling says they are making it easy for people to donate their prizes.
“They can either call and bring them to my shop, or they’ll call, and we’ll meet them and pick them up and then like the day before, April 29 and 30, we’ll be at KC Hall every other day and people can go drop them off at KC Hall,” Blake said.
Tickets for the event which includes the cost of a pork steak dinner plus two drinks and dancing are $50 for adults. The cost is also the same for young people aged 13 to 17. The cost for children ages 7-12 is $25. Children 12 and under are free. The meal for them is not included.
Doors open at 5 p.m. Saturday followed by dinner service from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dancing will also follow with music from Clint Taft & The Buckwild Band. Those wishing to purchase tickets for the event may do so by stopping by Bertling Rentals located at 851 E. IH 10. The business is open Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. A limited number of tickets will be sold at the door.
