Backline & Sweet Relief Auction Items by Bob Weir, DMB, More to Establish Music Mental Health Fund

back line and Sweet Relief Musicians Fund joined forces to establish the Music Mental Health Fund, which will help provide free therapy to music industry professionals in need. The organizations are holding an auction fundraiser to kick off the initiative, with unique prizes including signature guitars from Bob Weir, Sturgil-Simpsonand Judas Priest, Dave Matthews Band tickets and other musical memorabilia.

Backline and Sweet Relief respectively provide mental health support and financial support to the music industry. Backline’s case management service assesses and directs music industry professionals to healthcare providers, organizations and financial services based on their needs, resources and location. Clients who are unable to afford mental health care recommended to them will now be able to apply for a grant through Sweet Relief’s Music’s Mental Health Fund, intended to cover uncovered costs for a specified number of sessions with a dedicated clinician.

To officially launch the fund, Sweet Relief and Backline are hosting an auction on social impact platform Propeller, hoping to raise $100,000 for the Music’s Mental Health Fund, enough to provide mental health resources to approximately 250 music industry professionals and family members in need. Bidding will end May 31 at 6 p.m. ET.
