A collection of kingfishers sculptures is being auctioned off this week, after a summer spent dotted around Gloucestershire.

A unique collection of 22 individually designed sculptures, The Kingfisher Trail ran throughout the spring and summer and was a hugely popular regional activity during the 2021 summer break.

Visitors enjoyed spotting the beautifully designed birds in a variety of different settings and locations, from WWT Slimbridge to the picturesque Cotswold village of Bibury.

All Kingfisher models have a personal story attached to them and are beautifully designed and decorated by a group of incredibly talented artists.

No two sculptures are the same and each bears the signature style of its artist, ranging from street art to illustration.

The majestic kingfishers are now gearing up for their big reveal at the Kingfisher 2021 auction, which will be hosted by a team of local specialist art auctioneers at Pittville Pump Room on Thursday, October 21.

Whether you are an avid collector, animal lover, or art lover, you will find that all sculptures have their own appeal. The collection is inspired by a range of themes, from climate change to conservation of the Cotswolds countryside.

Prior to the live auction, everyone will have the opportunity to get their favorite sculpture via the “Buy Now” feature on the Kingfisher Trail 2021 app or website.

The extraordinary Gold Kingfisher, Sulis, will be up for grabs as a one-time raffle prize for one of the lucky 500 ticket holders. Tickets can be purchased through the app and the winner will be announced at the auction.

Andy Parsons, of Cotswolds National Landscape, said: “The Kingfisher Trail has been one of the most popular regional outdoor experiences this year and the highlight of the trail is the last flight of our magnificent herd, towards sale to live auction at Pittville Pump Room in Cheltenham.

“Guests of the auction will have an exclusive opportunity to bid for their favorite kingfisher sculpture and join us for a festive evening.”

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – As the old saying goes, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.

Residents and business owners of the Grand Strand didn’t miss their chance to bid on unclaimed and abandoned items from the Horry County Police Department at an auction on Saturday.

Items in the auction varied, but included used car parts and vehicles potentially involved in previous crimes. Some vehicles even have bullet holes but are sold regardless.

It’s sort of a boon for some business owners in Horry County, who are currently battling supply shortages due to COVID-19.

“Come and get the best deals trying to make a profit and with COVID we need some kind of deal for the company to come back and roll it around,” said Walter Gibson.

Car dealership owners weren’t the only ones raising their hands to bid on items like used cars, bikes, and other home essentials to use for parts. Others have come looking for tools or other items for home improvement projects.

“I hope I get some stuff for the cat pen I’m trying to finish and some vinyl to protect what I’m building,” said John Coleman.

It may seem like unwanted to many, but with shortages across industries, business owners are taking advantage of all of these usable parts.

Tim West, who owns a local car dealership, was looking for vehicles at Saturday’s event. West bought four cars, including a black Chrysler 13e with a few bullet holes on it.

“Getting a clean enough car to look clean is a very popular ride,” he said of the Chrysler. “People like them. They had decent rides for what I saw.

West and many other small business owners are recycling in the hopes of staying afloat with their businesses.

During this time, a portion of the auction proceeds will go towards HCPD’s equipment budget. The auctioneers said all items sold out in just hours, raising nearly $ 150,000 on Saturday alone.

The property at 2 Burkes Road, Terang, sold for $ 392,000, approximately $ 12,000 more than the expected price listed in the buyer’s guide. Ms Storr said the couple sold their home in Chelsea Heights in May and sat in Elliminyt. The house had caught their attention by visiting a friend in Camperdown and exploring the surrounding area. “We drove through Terang and have been looking at this house for six years,” she said. “We thought it was a good time to move. We were in a lifestyle village, we were right above the rest and we didn’t have our own garden.” Mr Storr, who taught high schools for 50 “We’re really happy to get involved in things,” he said.
