CMN Hospital Auction Event Features Holiday Support Purchases
LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – Hospital representatives from the local Children’s Miracle Network told News 19 they continue to navigate the current climate of COVID-19.
CMN hospitals provide grants for expenses such as equipment, transportation and food to families in the area with children facing significant medical problems. Funding, he says, has taken a hit with the cancellation of several key fundraisers.
The need for their service, however, has only increased.
“In fact, in many of the grants we have received, the parents of the children have been affected in one way or another by COVID-19,” said CMN hospital specialist Nicole Loeffelholz. “Often times you see families where parents may have been on leave or partially on leave.”
To help those families and those struggling to complete holiday shopping, MCN is running a silent auction in place of its typical basket raffle event. Featuring a variety of holiday baskets up for auction, the auction runs until noon on December 18.
“I really like the work of the home baskets,” added Loeffelholz. “We have about four or five that are home-themed or self-care-themed work, and I think that’s so important to everyone right now. Even if you don’t work from home, a lot articles are only good for general household use or good personal care, relaxation type articles. “
