Sotheby’s Moves $ 10 Million From CryptoPunk To Solo Auction Event

An ultra-rare CryptoPunk is slated for additional stage time at a highly anticipated upcoming auction.

In a Tweet today, luxury auction house Sotheby’s announced that the sale of CryptoPunk # 7530 – also known as “Covid Alien” – will be offered in a “special and stand-alone” auction . Punk was previously announced as part of the “Natively Digital” event, which strong points the history of NFTs and crypto-arts, with a selection of pieces that include this many consider it the very first NFT: “Quantum (NASDAQ :)” by Kevin McCoy, an animation produced in 2014 on the Namecoin blockchain.
