Sunflower Diversified plans Charity gala; auction items needed
Cody Harris and his colleagues at Sunflower Diversified Services were in the process of organizing the biggest fundraiser of the year for the nonprofit agency.
The Sunflower Charity Gala is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, February 26 at the Great Bend Events Center.
All proceeds will go directly to infants, toddlers and adults with disabilities and developmental delays.
“We are thrilled to be hosting this great night in the company of our many supporters,” said Harris, Director of Planned Giving and Community Supports for Sunflower. “Our online event was a success last year, but there is nothing quite like meeting in person. “
Sunflower has collected some items for the silent and live auctions, but a lot more is needed, Harris said.
One of the larger items already donated is an Elite Gable 10 by 12 shed from Sturdi-Bilt, Great Bend. Retail value is $ 4,352.
“We can’t thank the folks at Sturdi-Bilt enough,” said Harris. “The people Sunflower serves and our staff are very grateful for this local support. The hangar is a very attractive addition to our live auction.
“Our auctions have been popular over the years thanks to our generous donors,” he added. “To continue this 17th annual tradition, we definitely need more articles. Those who contribute can rest assured that their generosity will directly affect children and adults with special needs.
The cost of the gala is $ 100 per person. The evening begins with a social hour and a silent auction. Ellsworth Steakhouse will serve dinner from 7pm; the live auction will follow. An open bar is available throughout the event.
Scott Donovan is the host and Mike Niedens the auctioneer.
“Scott and Mike are always entertaining, while keeping the crowd fully engaged,” said Harris. “Their commitment over the years to the people Sunflower serves is simply exceptional.
“We encourage other longtime supporters and newcomers to contribute to this most laudable cause. You can attend the gala, donate items to auction, become a sponsor, volunteer, or all of the above. The children and adults we serve rely on us.
