The Twin Pike Family YMCA hosted the annual “Casino Royale” fundraising dinner auction last Saturday night at the YMCA facilities in Louisiana.

The event was different from the previous annual dinner auctions. This year’s event was “Renewed, Refreshed and Revitalized” to provide a more interactive atmosphere for guests. This change coincided with the current theme of the maintenance fundraising campaign – “Renew, Refresh, Revitalize” which focuses on raising funds to complete facility maintenance and renovations. Throughout the evening there were shows, lots of casino games and a wonderful buffet meal. The event raised $ 25,549 after expenses.

The evening’s festivities began with a social hour and live performances from local high school students Hanna Blackmore and Tricia Luke. As the evening progressed, the casino tables entertained the Y’s guests. A second live by Y’s own Asst. Water sports director Hannah Williams, who was accompanied by her brother Shane Sinclair, climbed on stage to entertain all present.

The last live entertainment number was Joey Wray, of Bowling Green, who performed before the live auction event.

General Manager Marsha Garrison acknowledged all the efforts made for this year’s event.

“We would like to thank each of the live entertainment groups for their excellent performances, and to thank the businesses and individuals in the area who sponsored table games and activities.” She added, “We would also like to thank our ‘Local Celebrity’ Casio dealers who did a great job at the gaming tables and made the event a real casino. “

YMCA Board Chair Mary Perkins acknowledged the incredible support of Twin Pike communities for the YMCA and said she was confident the region would step up its support for the Renew, Refresh, Revitalize campaign.

“All homes are in need of maintenance, and our ‘The Y’ home is in need of repairs and renovations right now.” She shared, “All of the money raised from the Casino Royale event will go to the Renew, Refresh, Revitalize campaign to complete the necessary general maintenance, so the Y can continue to serve generations to come.”

Garrison, took advantage of the evening’s events to thank all those who participated in the creation and sustainability of the organization. “We would not have experienced the growth and success that we have enjoyed over the past twenty-four years without all the support from area businesses and community members, and we would not be where we are. are today without the continued commitment of the staff and the leadership of our Y volunteers.

Thanks to funds raised during this year’s event, the Renew, Refresh, Revitalize campaign raised $ 122,880 of the project’s goal of $ 365,000. This constitutes one third of the funding required to complete the renovations and repairs included in this project.
